You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!

I'm new to paddling. Can I join the group?
We were all newbies once. Please identify yourself at each paddle so we can teach you and look out for you on the water until you are comfortable. Please join us on any easy paddle.

Can I lead a paddle or make a suggestion for one?
Your participation is encouraged! We love suggestions whether it is a paddle you've done, one you'd like to do or any water-related adventure. We'd like it even more if you'd lead it but if you can't, we'll do our best to find someone who will.

I'm afraid I'll get lost on the river!
We will always ask for a volunteer canoeist to lead us down the water and a paddler to bring up the rear.

When we are on the river, should I stay with the group or not?
Please stay together - whether shuttling cars or paddling. If you stop mid-paddle to use the facilities, take pictures or fish, please let another paddler know. It's like taking a walk with someone. It makes the trip more enjoyable to converse or just be near the people with you.

Gas prices are so high and I'm worried about not finding the put-in.
Car pooling or meeting someplace to follow one another is encouraged. Some of our put-ins will be difficult to find. If you get lost, please call the trip leader.

What if I'm late for a shuttled paddle?
As a courtesy to your fellow paddlers, please allow extra time to arrive on time for shuttles. But things happen. Call the group leader to let them know to hold up the entire group who arrived on time, unloaded and are waiting for you.

Will trip leaders provide a boat if I don't own one?
Resources will be made available when possible but it is your responsibility to ensure you have a boat on the day of the paddle.

What should I RSVP if I want to attend an event but not sure if I can make it?
RSVP "Maybe." Most events will be available to an unlimited number of members but some events, such as one sponsored at a member's home, will be limited to number of attendees. In that case, three days before the event those on the "Maybe" list will be asked to change their status.

What is a Wild Hare paddle?
Wild Hare Paddles is a paddle posted less than a week in advance of the paddle. We already know most of us won't be able to make it since we have that four letter word "work" that means we can't go play. RSVP-ing "No" is not necessary for these paddles. Just RSVP if you are a "Yes" or "Maybe" for week day or Wild Hare paddles.

Most important of all, we want to live life to its fullest, make friends and have fun.
