One of our main objectives is to make paddling with the safety and camaraderie of a group accessible to everyone, regardless of their skil …
We paddle the rivers, lakes, marshes, and bays in the Washington, D.C., area. We get up close and personal with beautiful scenery and wildlife, we see things from the water that are not visible any other way, and we enjoy the special happiness -- a magical combination of tranquility and exhilaration -- that comes from being on the water. Some of us paddle for the exercise, some to watch birds, some to reduce tension, and some to socialize. But we all enjoy kayaking, and enjoy doing it togeth …

Look for beginner lessons to start in the spring, once conditions on the river permit us to get out there, usually in May. For …

Most the kayak fishermen I meet are paddling solo. I'd like to start a club to kayak fish between Baltimore to the Annapolis/ Bay Bridge area, possiblely other locations or rivers and lakes. Maybe we could take an annual trip to the Atlantic Ocean and land some monsters!

Potomac River Gauge (Little Falls) Unlike other kayak groups that have members from Leesberg to Baltimore, the purpose of this group is to bring together whitewater kayakers that live in or very near District of Columbia proper, so every member is accessible and potentially a great person to buddy up with. The goal isn't to get a lot of members, just the right ones. See a map that plots where our members live The mailing list (dckayakers-list@meetup.com) and message board can be used by any …

First, the 20's and 30's tag is a mindset not an age requirement to join this group. We are a diverse group and ALL are welcome here !! However, we use the 20's and 30's because that's what the majority of our group and the events that we do around the area. The DC, MD & VA Hiking Group is all about meeting life long friends, getting to know new people, keeping in touch with old friends, having fun, and engaging in new activities while learning about ourselves. We are genuine and we hope people …
