This group is being formed to help foster friendship and camaraderie with fellow Island paddlers. Talking with a number of people, we thought it would be great to have a forum to schedule a once a week group paddle and have fun learning and socializing together. We could rotate the paddle to different parts of the Island or just meet up at Calkins Landing once a week. Hope to see you on the water!!

I STARTED THIS GROUP BECAUSE POLE WALKING is G-R-E-A-T! I know about health and fitness! I had the opportunity to compete in the Olympic Games in rowing, but my biggest achievement was putting my body back together after a devastating car accident. Not only that I'm a workshop facilitator; I love empowering people to take action for their own results...especially health and fitness. I tried pole walking in the summer of 2009 to strengthen my arms and shoulders so that I could carry the Winter Ol …

Also, how fun would it be to hit the Red Door for drinks after an evening kayak or hit a great place for breakfast after a weekend morning paddle?
